First Aid Courses
I recently enquired about doing a 'Practical' First Aid course with the Red Cross, or the 'Activity' First Aid course with St. John's Ambulance.
These
course are both ideal for people in the Scout Association, as they deal
with things we may experience as Young Leaders and as Explorers. For
instance:- Broken Bones, Hypothermia and Heat Exhaustion.

Swimming on Wednesday 7th February
We are going Swimming - and we are all going to get our Swimming Stage 1 Badge - which is really hard....
Where: Manchester Aquatics Centre - Meet at the Hut at 7.30pm to catch the bus there!
When: 7.30pm at the Hut - just to make sure you are listening!
How Much: Swimming is £3 plus bus fare, for children a fiver should do, for adults maybe a little more!
What do I need: Swimming Costume and Towel - we are having no naked swimmers I am afraid!
When does it finish? We will probably swim for about 1 hour, so if need be can be back for 9.30pm. It is up to you to organise getting home!
So come and have some fun in the water!

About the Unit
The Viking unit serves the entire Manchester South District and is open to anyone aged 14 to 18 years of age.
The unit was orginally formed in January 2004. We orginally had 7 members all from the 88th Manchester Scout group. Over the last few years we have originally increased in size dramatically, but unfortunately now are lacking in numbers. We now have 6 members and we are in consant contact with many of the groups in the Manchester South District.
Where? When? How?
We meet on Wednesdays at 2000hr (8pm) at 88th Manchester Scout HQ "The Lodge" School Lane Didsbury.
Just turn up or e-mail the leaders.
