Summer Camp - West Highland Way, Scotland - 2007:
19th August - 4th September 2007
Last summer the unit ran a very successful week long camp to Scotland, with 4 Explorers and 2 Leaders attending.
We organised a days climbing to start off our camp. We then commenced a 3-day walk along half off the West Highland Way.
We started off in Tyndrum, and walked all day to our overnight stopping point – Baa Bridge. We wild camped at Baa Bridge and were even lucky enough to see wild salmon jumping up the river.
From Baa Bridge we walked onto Kinlochleven staying overnight in a midge-ridden campsite, and on the final day we walked to Fort William the end of the West Highland
Way.
On the final day in Scotland we hiked to the top of Ben Nevis for some truly amazing views.
